I am always stunned at the helpfulness of the university librarians that I've encountered - not that I expect them to be surly and difficult but it's such a pleasant surprise to find someone who has no investment in my academic life willing to locate some obscure fact or hard-to-find book for me.

Great answers! I hope you aren't offended by this, but in order to convince my students to seek out librarians' help (they are often scared to do this, b/c it means admitting they "don't know" something), ANYWAY-- I often compare librarians to golden retrievers: i.e., they are SO friendly, and SO helpful, and their number one job priority is retrieving information.

As an ex-journalist (har har) and a self-centered goober, I always imagine me being interviewed. I'd love for you to be the one. :)

This was great fun to read! Is there a way of getting a recipe for Repressed Librarian's vegan cupcakes?
Thanks!
